An invitation to make some new work

How could I say no to a ceramics invitational curated by Eugene Hön who was head of department at Wits Technikon where I completed my ceramic design diploma in 1995? I’ve been in a bit of a reclusive space while I figure out my renewed relationship to clay post the closing of my production studio. So I took this opportunity to realize a vessel that was living in my head. One that combined a technique I had used many years ago to build very fine translucent collage-like bowls made of pieces of porcelain and more recent work slab-building with coloured laminated porcelain. I’m so pleased with the result: re-finding my way with clay.
